Chennai Express, the next directorial venture of Rohit Shetty, starring the King of all Hearts, Shah Rukh Khan and the beautiful trendsetter of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone is one of the next big releases awaited by everybody. There is a lot of hype generated around this Eid release, thanks to the immense advertising and promotions it is supplemented by. In fact just today morning my coffee seemed sweeter, thanks to the big SRK cover of Chennai Express on The Delhi Times.
It is an action-comedy, which is much expected of the director, based on the love story between SRK and Deepika. However, will the movie be able to create the same magic between the pair as was in the case of Om Shanti Om? OSO was a romantic drama, a genre which works for King Khan. But the actor's Ra.One, which was all about superheroes and action, failed to impress the masses. Some people, it was concluded, are best suited for certain types of films. However it seems, the actor has not given up on action yet, as he turns producer yet again for Chennai Express. SRK promises a lot of humour in the film, and we are ready to take his word on that, since the deadly comic duo of him and Rohit Shetty is guaranteed to have you in splits!
Meanwhile Deepika Padukone, the top most heroine in the industry right now, seems to be delivering superhits back to back. Cocktail, Race 2 and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, have done superbly well at the box office and have earned her recognition as a performer. Having her in Chennai Express promises a lot of glamour and romance together.
The movie seems to have an endearing feel to it, and its posters show the bubbling energy it has. Romance, comedy, action and the charming chemistry between the leads are things not easily achieved in a movie all together. Anyway, I am pretty excited for this August 8 release. Ready, Steady, POOO! ;)
